Poem: Spring Showers

Spring showers, is that you?

Taping on my roof,

beating lightly,

singing slightly.

Do you fill the ground with water and mud

for flowers to have a home when morning comes?

Will you kiss the trees,

to give them leaves?

sprinkle the earth

and splash the dirt?

Will you sweep away the winter days

With rays of sun and showers of rain?

Leave those cold memories behind,

For dreams of summer sunshine?

Then after your time is done

and your rain is all gone,

the flowers will bloom,

and the sky will be blue,

grasses will be greener,

and air sweeter.

But until then your clouds fill the skies,

and on the ground your water does lie

For now all is gray,

but soon will be gay, for spring is on it’s way!
